Overwatch update mutes Xbox one players with bad reports

Blizzard games recently updated the team-based shooter game, Overwatch, with a hidden patch for Xbox One consoles that will disable voice chat for players with “Avoid Me” badges. These badges identify players who’ve been repeatedly reported on Xbox platform for toxic behaviour like bullying.

Although the offenders will be allowed to stay in the same matchmaking pool, disabled voice communications have the potential of reducing abuse. Earlier, these “toxic” players were placed into separate matchmaking pools which led to higher time in finding matches.

Some users on Reddit claim that players report anyone playing poorly or too well, giving them liberty to abuse the feature without significant reasons.
