Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) reportedly receiving Android 9 Pie update
Smartphone maker Samsung has started rolling out the Android 9 Pie update to its Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018). As reported by SamMobile, the software is coming to the handset through the Samsung Smart Switch application. It further states that the update is rolling out to the Galaxy A8+ (2018) users in Russia. Additionally, the update come with February 2019 Android security patch.

Though the update is being rolled out through the company’s Smart Switch application, users can also check for the over-the-air update in the settings section of the smartphone. To recall, the smartphone was launched in January, 2018. The handset was upgraded to Android Oreo in January this year.

The Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) smartphone comes with a 6-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen comes with curved glass panel for discussion. It is powered by the 2.2GHz Exion operating system 7885 octa-core SoC processor and packs 4GB/6GB RAM options.

The handset comes in two storage variants – 32GB and 64GB which may be expanded further up to 256GB using microSD card support. It houses a 3,500mAh battery and offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port.

As for the camera is concerned, the Galaxy A8+ (2019) boasts of dual rear camera setup. It comprises of 16-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with F 1.9 aperture. For selfies, the handset features 16-megapixel front camera with F 1.7 aperture.

The dual-SIM smartphone offers dual standby (4G+4G). Colour options include Gold and Black. It comes with a price tag of Rs 29,990 in India.
