amsung is holding its “A Galaxy Event” later today at three locations that include Bangkok, Milan and Sao Paolo. The event is expected to see the announcement of the highly anticipated Galaxy A90 along with some other Galaxy A phones. The Galaxy A90 has been rumoured in recent weeks and is touted to be a premium mid-range smartphone with a unique pop-up rotatory selfie camera. Samsung may also globally announce the recently unveiled Galaxy A70 and a few more devices.

You can catch the Galaxy A event live by heading over to Samsung’s official website starting 6:30pm IST. Based on some leaked concept renders and specs over the past few weeks, it seems that the Galaxy A90 will be the star of Wednesday’s event. Some reports just hours ahead of the event claim the Galaxy A90 will actually be called the Galaxy A80.

Based on what we know so far, the Galaxy A90 or Galaxy A80 will come with a premium glass design. It will also get a notch-less, hole-less display to offer an immersive viewing experience. As per the concept design, the pop-selfie camera will rise up revealing the primary camera setup that can rotate automatically and double up as a selfie camera.

Theoretically, a setup like this means the Galaxy A90 will not need a separate front-facing camera, but can use the powerful primary optics for selfies. The Galaxy A90 is also expected to come with a premium design language and high-end hardware as it will likely be the flagship phone in the Galaxy A-series this year.

As per a specs leak on Weibo last week, the Galaxy A90 is tipped to come with a 48MP dual camera setup, perhaps using the Sony IMX586 sensor. So the rotating camera system will let you use this ultra-detailed 48MP camera for selfies as well.

Additionally, the Galaxy A90 is rumoured to come with a 6.7-inch FHD+ (2400×1080) Super AMOLED display and could be powered by a Snapdragon 7150 chipset, which is expected to be the successor to the Snapdragon 710. The phone is also expected to house a large battery and support 25W fast charging.
